Job Description
Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure
DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.
As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.
If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.
About DayOne
DayOne builds and operates the data centers that AI, cloud, and digital economies run on. Our Hong Kong campus sits at the centre of one of Asia-Pacific's most connected cities — a global financial hub with some of the world's densest submarine cable landings. The infrastructure you maintain here supports critical digital services that businesses and communities across the region depend on every day.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems — HV/LV switchgear, UPS, PDUs, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and fire suppression systems
- Monitor facility performance via BMS and DCIM tools; record and analyse data to ensure optimal performance and catch issues early
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents — troubleshoot, coordinate vendors, escalate where needed, and document all activity in the CMMS
- Execute preventive maintenance and regular inspections on all equipment to OEM and DayOne standards
- Assist in the commissioning and integration of new systems and equipment
- Adhere to all safety protocols, participate in drills and training sessions, and report any hazards or incidents to the Shift Supervisor
- Conduct thorough shift handovers, support team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Diploma or above in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering (IVE/VTC, PolyU, or equivalent)
- 2+ years hands-on in data centers, critical facilities, or infrastructure operations — MTR, CLP, HK Electric, major FM firms, or airport ops are strong backgrounds
- Working knowledge of UPS, generators, or cooling plant
- Able and willing to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and HK public holidays
- Working English and Cantonese
- Capable of working in rotating 12-hour shifts (2-on-2-off, including nights, weekends, and public holidays)
Nice-to-Have
- REW licence Grade B or above
- EMSD-recognised trade qualifications
- BMS platform experience (Schneider, Vertiv, ABB, or similar)
Why DayOne
The team here knows what they're doing, the facility runs to high standards, and the work is genuinely significant — the infrastructure you look after keeps critical digital services online for enterprises and communities across the region. That's a different kind of shift work.
Good technical performance is recognised and rewarded. Strong technicians move into Senior Technician, Shift Supervisor, or regional engineering roles as DayOne grows. We back that with real investment: 40+ training hours per person per year, REW upgrade support, and vendor-led technical programmes.
DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
If you're ready to grow with one of the fastest-moving companies in the data center industry, apply now and be part of our global journey.
