We are currently looking for a Cargo Examination Officer to be based at Adelaide Airport on an On-call Casual basis
Cargo Examination Officers are responsible for screening export air cargo in line with aviation security legislation, ACE regulations & Trident procedures

About the RoleAs a Cargo Examination Officer (ACEO), you will play a vital frontline role ensuring all export air cargo is screened in accordance with the Aviation Transport Security Act, the Air Cargo Examination (ACE) regulatory framework, and Trident operational procedures.You will be responsible for conducting cargo screening using a range of technologies and approved methods to identify prohibited items, threats, and anomalies before cargo enters the airside environment.This role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, situational awareness, and the ability to work effectively within a centralised screening environment.Key Responsibilities
Conduct physical inspections,
X‑ray examinations,
Apply a full suite of Approved Air Cargo Examination (ACE) methods
Report, escalate, and document security incidents in line with regulatory requirements
Apply Trident SOPs, RACA security requirements
Maintain compliance with all training, accreditation, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) obligations
Communicate with the central screening hub (Sydney) when articles require further examination
Operate screening equipment safely and maintain screening documentation, registers, and logs
Uphold Trident’s security culture, values, and strict integrity standards
Perform duties across rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays where required
Qualifications & Requirements To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:Mandatory
Eligibility to obtain and maintain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
Ability to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol screening
Ability to obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) or already hold one
Ability to pass a criminal history check
Colour‑vision suitability for X‑ray screening tasks
Full work rights in Australia
Ability to work shift rosters including night shifts and weekends
Good communication both verbal and written
Highly Desirable
Minimum 1 year of experience in aviation security, cargo screening, or freight handling
Previous qualification(s) in:
o Air Cargo X‑ray Operations
o ETD (internal/external)
o Physical Examination
o EMD
o High‑Risk Cargo
o Dangerous Goods Recognition
