About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Appointed Person on the Hinkley Point C project.
The role of the Appointed Person is a site based role and will report to the Construction Manager and support the site Construction team.
The candidate will be required to work in line with the Amentum construction team's working rotation. This consists of 10 days on site with a 4 day weekend, starting on a Tuesday and finishing the following Thursday. The candidate will receive overtime and weekend pay rates in line with the site ESCA agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure lifting activities under the Amentum scope comply with legislation, standards, COP.s and NNB lifting standard
- Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Support the Lifting AP to ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
- Support the Lifting AP to ensure weekly & monthly reports are compiled and produced in a timely manner for upward review
- Support the Lifting AP to ensure resource to meet organisational requirements are available in line with the delivery schedule.
- Support the Lifting Team to ensure the project is delivered on time, budget & quality.
- Lifting procedures, lifting coordination plans, Lifting studies, Lift Plans
- Assessing day to day activities and reporting into planning ensuring lifting tasks are prioritised accordingly
- Recording of all lifting operation delays.
- Assisting in developing best practical and innovative lift solutions.
- Coordinating lifts alongside the multiple project and construction management teams to ensure smooth operations and managed logistics around the sites.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience of working as Lifting Lead on construction projects
- Ability to work in pressurised environments
- Extensive lifting experience (preferably engineered lifts).
- An understanding of available small frame lifting equipment. i.e., spider cranes, pick up and carry electric cranes Pico lifts and Genie lifting type units.
- Proven experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- CPCS A61 Appointed Person Competent operator (Blue Card)
- NVQ Level 3 ACE card qualified in steel erecting / moving loads
- ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads with TAP01
- OSH Managing Safely
- Experience of Heavy Lift planning involving mobile cranes and/or loose lifting equipment
- Good familiarity with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) or international equivalents
- Ability to work collaboratively in client/ contractor project office
- Good communication skills and previous experience interfacing with clients & work coordinators with regards to lifting and rigging.
- On site presence is required for witnessing lifts and for immediate support
- Previous experience managing rigging equipment stock
Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
