Job Description

To deliver a competitive advantage to our company, the Business Finance function needs to be agile and dynamic, founded on insights from advanced analytics and tools, and proactive business partnering to influence strategic decisions where possible. With the ever-changing business environment and technologies, there have been significant changes in the role of the Business Finance function, as it pivots towards a more predictive and analytical future as opposed to descriptive analysis. We shall no longer just report the news but help make the news. Connect the internal and external insights and proactively drive and shape the governance of the Local, Regional, or Global agendas for business discussions.

In this perspective, we aim to become a strong business partner with the Sustainability team. We believe that a transformational change is only possible if sustainability factors are incorporated into strategic planning and into the allocation of capital that drives investments more holistically. 

Business finance will ensure that sustainability issues are addressed in an integrated manner within the Company's strategic planning and decisions, aligned with the budgeting and forecasting processes, and that sustainability strategies are costed, financial resources are allocated, and performance is monitored

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Reporting to the Senior Business Finance Manager, Sustainability Performance, the incumbent is expected to work cohesively and support Sustainability Performance, establishment, implementation, continuous improvement through process standardization across North Asia and SEAA 

 

Sustainability Performance and Reporting (40%) 

  • Manages Microsoft Sustainability Manager platform to streamline data collection and analysis.
  • Drives actionable business insights to identify trends, emission hotspots, risk and opportunities.
  • Support Corporate team on Sustainability related risk assessments 
  • Assist and prepare work with the Corporate Sustainability Performance team on adapting methodologies and data gathering to move towards more activity-based reporting on carbon emissions, ensuring these are appropriate and realistic for the local teams and will ensure actions and progress can be reflected in the data (e.g. Events, Capital Goods)

Sustainability Finance in Business decisions (40%) 

  • Lead the development of an effective Finance Sustainability Framework on governance, KPI, and metrics across North Asia and SEAA region in collaboration with Global for all investment decisions. Ensure cross-functional involvement, change management, training, and ownership of the objectives are agreed and achieved. 
  • Engage with Global/Regional/Local teams to align on long-term strategy and consolidate net zero carbon spend and emissions and other Sustainability areas to support future TCFD reporting or similar Industry requirements. 
  • Work together with Global / Regional resources dedicated to the CSRD project, to understand needs, support implementation.  
  • Coordinate implementation of new policies related to Sustainability considerations and work collaboratively across the Regional Business Finance team & and Global Corporate team to develop guidelines for OPEX and CAPEX budgeting with KPI that include short and long-sustainability factors.

Manage the overall controlling and planning of the Sustainability Function at Regional level (20%). 

  • Strive to implement appropriate methodology/processes/tools to effectively drive the sustainability financial performance. 
  • Support the investment activities on Sustainability and ensuring the right governance is in place. 
  • Manage the overall sustainability function controlling and budgeting, including supplementing and implementing enhancements to our financial projection models. 
  • Communicate perspectives about the function of region and markets’ financial performance to the stakeholders, incorporating insights into the group’s outlook.  
  • Manage the overall financial budgeting and monitoring sustainability activities to provide Smart Analytics that can be turned into actionable insights and enable management to make the best decisions.

Role Specifications:   

Academic / Professional Qualifications 

  • University degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance, Accounting, Management Systems, Economics, or Quantitative Finance.  
  • CPA/CA/ICAA or equivalent – thorough knowledge of accounting / financial concepts and principles.

Work Experience 

  • Significant experience in working in Sustainability is preferred. 
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in reporting, extensive knowledge in external reporting and compliance, and a passion for ESG reporting.
