JOB PURPOSE / POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Lead supports the daily operations of the Central Procurement warehouse by coordinating material flow, maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing warehouse activities, and assisting with supervision of warehouse personnel. This role serves as a working lead and is responsible for promoting safety, efficiency, accountability, and organization within the warehouse environment.
The Warehouse Lead works closely with Procurement, Yard Operations, Project Teams, Vendors, and Field Personnel to ensure materials, tools, and equipment are received, stored, tracked, and distributed accurately and timely. This position assists the Warehouse Supervisor in driving operational performance and maintaining company standards.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations & Coordination
Support daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, staging, loading, and distribution of materials and equipment
Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate processing
Organize warehouse layout and storage locations to support operational efficiency and accessibility
Pull, stage, and prepare materials for field delivery and project requests
Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation
Ensure materials are properly labeled, tracked, and stored according to company procedures
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, discrepancies, or damaged materials to the Warehouse Supervisor or Procurement leadership
Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities
Support warehouse cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards
Equipment & Inventory Management
Assist in monitoring warehouse tools, fleet assets, and equipment utilization
Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and servicing needs with leadership as necessary
Track and document material movement using company systems and inventory procedures
Help minimize material loss, damage, and shrinkage through proper controls and organization
Operate forklifts, loaders, pallet jacks, and company vehicles safely and responsibly
Communication & Customer Service
Communicate effectively with Procurement, Yard, and Operations teams regarding material availability and delivery needs
Provide timely updates regarding inventory issues, shipment delays, or operational concerns
Assist field employees and internal teams with material pickups and warehouse-related requests
Support a customer-service-focused environment for both internal and external stakeholders
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (KSA’s, Education, YOE)
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse, inventory, logistics, or material management experience preferred
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required
Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record required
Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and company vehicles
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Basic computer proficiency, including inventory systems, email, and Microsoft Office
Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, purchase orders, and inventory records
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS (environment, noise level, public interactions)
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull materials
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance
Work performed in warehouse, yard, and outdoor construction-related environments
Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, equipment movement, and weather conditions
May require overtime, weekends, or flexible scheduling based on operational needs.
Ability to wear required PPE on job sites
