The Return Utah program is similar to an internship designed for adults looking to re-enter the workforce after an extended absence. These opportunities are structured as return-to-work positions that provide the experience, training, skills, and mentoring an individual need to return to the workforce. Return Utah is a 16-week program for people who have taken a career break for at least one years or more for reasons such as starting or raising a family, caring for a family member, chronic illness, enhanced education, other personal/career related needs, etc. Those serving, separated, or retired from military service and their spouses and/or partners are not required to meet the two-year requirement. A career break of any length makes them eligible to participate in the program. This is a temporary (benefitted), full-time position for potential Return Utah candidates. To be eligible for this return-to-work opportunity, candidates must: - Be on a career break of one or more years at time of application unless currently serving, recently separated, retired from military service, or supporting a military spouse/partner. - Have prior professional experience in functional area of interest. This recruitment may be filled from either application option, Return Utah or the standard application option. The Utah State Tax Commission's Customer Services Division is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill its Tax Compliance Agent position. This person will play an integral role in Division's mission to answer taxpayer inquires. You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a FBI level background check. This job may be filled at any of the advertised levels. Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: The Tax Compliance Agent will need to have: Experience negotiating with customers Prior experience in collections, including taking legal action Basic understanding of Utah tax laws Skills in dealing with customers in an adverse environment Prior experience working with customers over the phone Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Be able to do your part in a team environment Research information to find answer to questions Data entry skills Job Series This position may be filled at any level within the job series. - Tax Compliance Agent II $22.05-$33.13; or, - Tax Compliance Agent III $24.60-$36.94. Salary Non-state employees are hired for this position only at entry level (Tax Compliance Agent II), $23.15 an hour. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for current state employees.
