Job Description

  • Full time, fixed term until 18 January 2027 (with a possibility of extension)

  • Exciting opportunity to provide high quality administrative support to the Inclusion & Disability Services team

  • Base Salary $89,755 + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

As the Administrative Officer, you will play a key role within the Inclusion & Disability Services team by providing high-quality administrative and operational support that enables smooth daily operations and positive outcomes for students and staff.

You will act as the initial point of contact for the work area, coordinate the flow of information, and use your judgement and organisational skills to maintain efficient processes in a fast-paced, service-focused environment

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • deliver general administrative and operational support to the Inclusion & Disability Services team

  • analyse incoming enquiries and correspondence and prepare appropriate responses

  • provide high-level support for diary, travel and accommodation coordination

  • gather, organise and summarise data to prepare reports, charts, graphs and tables

  • coordinate administrative processes, services and resource development for the work area

  • manage purchasing, payments and invoice processing

  • develop and maintain effective working relationships across the University.

About you

  • experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment

  • strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, problem solving and prioritisation of workload

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience responding to diverse enquiries

  • numeracy skills with experience managing expenditure, reconciliations and invoice payments

  • ability to work effectively with a diverse client group, including sensitivity to the needs of students with disability

  • experience using practice management or records/appointment management systems

  • relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  Your employment is conditional upon the successful completion of all pre-employment or background checks required for the role in terms satisfactory to the University.  Also, to meet the University’s obligations under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Eliminate Gender-Based Violence you will be asked to declare if you have been investigated for, or found to engaged in, sexual harm or gender-based violence in the course of previous employment or in a legal process. Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements. If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step, including the termination of your employment.

This position is designated as involving child-related work. To undertake or remain in this position, you are required to apply for and obtain a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
