Job Description
The Interpreting and Translation Services department at UCSF Health is committed to the provision of interpreting services 24/7 to patients, families, providers, and staff to facilitate optimal care and services. We provide services at no cost to patients who are non-English speaking, limited English proficient, deaf, hard of hearing, people who are blind or have low vision, and/or have a speech impairment. We offer on-site, over-the-phone, and video medical interpreting in over 200 languages, including American Sign Language. Interpreting services are provided by our own UCSF staff interpreters as well as qualified vendor and contract staff who collaborate with our staff to optimize communication. We also offer document translation services and bilingual certification for clinicians and staff.
