Job Description

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Security Guard - Night Shift (7 on, 7 off) to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA!

This is an overnight position that will work a modified schedule from 6 pm - 6 am, 7 on, 7 off schedule with a 6 hr. shift on Thursday. 

6 hrs on Thursday, 12 hrs Friday - Wednesday, 6 hrs Thursday, and off Friday - Wednesday.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.15 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Security Guard monitors the Fibrebond campus to ensure security of the entire facility.  They fill assigned post orders on a 7-day rotation with 12-hour shifts.  They patrols all buildings, parking lots, and grounds to assure security and prevent damage to or loss of company and employee property.  They complete detailed logs and reports as necessary.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide professional, courteous, and customer service level security to anyone entering the campus, and when appropriate, in any situation an emergency should arise.
  • Respond to incidents, handle unruly guests or visitors and handle issues in a calm, professional manner, using appropriate problem-solving skills.
  • Monitor points of egress and egress, and conduct regular but random rounds, both on foot, and in a vehicle.
  • Monitor and proficiently operate computer systems to include cameras, access controls, and alarms.
  • Patrol all buildings and property of Fibrebond campus, checking doors, windows, and access gates to assure security.  
  • Monitor all systems for fire, flood, and any facility damage.
  • Maintain daily logs as instructed by Manager.
  • Complete incident reports as needed.
  • Complete daily housekeeping of guardhouse.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.  Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in security functions or physical access control.

Skills & Physical Requirements:

  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, use good judgement, and be professional.
  • Must be physically fit, mentally alert, and emotionally stable to respond in the event of an emergency.
  • Must be able to sit for long-periods of time, walk or stand, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work extended shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle if needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs or ladder if needed with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to patrol in the dark if required.
  • Must abe able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Must be able to use a computer without difficulty, and effectively monitor computer-based camera, access control, and alarm systems, with previous knowledge of said systems a plus.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shift (day or night)  on a 7-day rotation and maintain alertness.
