Corporate Actions Team LeadJob Description
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.3m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses. The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
Your team
This role sits within our Corporate Actions team, part of IG’s global Operations function. The team processes all corporate action events across physical, CFD, and spread betting accounts, manages equity transfer operations, and drives automation across our global corporate actions capability. We operate from Bangalore, working closely with custodians, brokers, and internal stakeholders in Australia, Singapore, Japan and UK to deliver accurate, timely outcomes for our clients
Your role in the Team's Success
We’re looking for a leader who will improve how this team operates — not simply maintain it. You will be the team’s process expert on corporate actions — someone who has personally processed every event type and understands the workflows end-to-end. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll be in the detail daily, processing alongside your team, while driving automation and leveraging AI to simplify day-to-day operations. We’re looking for someone who embraces change, questions how things are done, raises quality standards, and gives honest and constructive feedback — bringing their team along with confidence and clarity.
What you'll do
Hands-On Corporate Actions Processing
Process corporate actions daily as a core part of your role. Your hands-on expertise is what gives you credibility as a leader and allows you to guide your team through complex cases from real experience.
Take ownership of the most complex and high-priority events across physical accounts, CFDs, and spread betting derivatives. Develop deep working knowledge across mandatory events, voluntary events, mergers, rights issues, scrip dividends, tenders, and delistings.
Process Improvement & Automation
Continuously evaluate existing processes with a critical eye — we expect you to question established ways of working and propose better alternatives where you see the opportunity.
Lead automation initiatives that deliver tangible results: build and maintain Tableau dashboards, VBA solutions, and automated reporting that improve efficiency and give stakeholders clear visibility.
Own the documentation and training for process changes you introduce, ensuring they are adopted effectively across the team.
Explore and apply AI tools and techniques to streamline day-to-day processing — whether that’s automating repetitive tasks, improving data extraction and reconciliation, or using AI-assisted workflows to reduce manual effort and error rates. We expect you to stay curious about what’s possible and bring practical AI solutions into the team’s daily operations.
Team Leadership & People Development
Lead a team of 6–7 corporate actions processors, setting clear expectations and consistently holding the team to high standards.
Provide regular, honest feedback to your team — including constructive and difficult feedback where performance or conduct requires it. We need a leader who addresses issues early and directly.
Drive performance management with rigour: monitor workload distribution, track output quality, and take timely action when standards are not being met.
Invest in developing your team through structured coaching, mentoring, and by creating opportunities for growth. Run focused team meetings and meaningful one-on-ones.
Coordinate effectively with UK and Australian stakeholders, representing the Bangalore team with confidence and accountability.
What you'll need for this role
Key Qualification Requirements:
Leadership experience: Overall 5+ years of experience with minimum 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role. Degree in Finance or MBA from top-tier college.
Strong corporate actions expertise: Demonstrable, hands-on experience across all event types — mandatory, voluntary, and complex. Your understanding should come from direct processing experience, not just procedural knowledge.
Automation capability: A track record of building and deploying automation solutions (VBA, macros, Tableau dashboards) in corporate actions or financial operations that delivered measurable improvements.
AI fluency: Familiarity with using AI tools to simplify operational workflows — whether for data processing, reporting, reconciliation, or communication. You don’t need to be a data scientist, but you should be comfortable experimenting with AI to make everyday work faster and more accurate.
Willingness to have tough conversations: You are comfortable giving direct, constructive feedback and promptly and fairly addressing performance issues. You see this as part of the role, not an occasional necessity.
A mindset for improvement: You naturally question the status quo, look for what can work better, and take initiative to make changes rather than waiting for direction.
Embraces change: You are energised by evolving ways of working — whether it’s new tools, shifting priorities, or process redesigns. You don’t wait for change to be fully defined before getting on board; you lean in early, help shape it, and bring your team along with confidence and clarity.
Strong communication and organisation: You are detail-oriented, structured in your approach, and communicate clearly and directly. You manage competing priorities calmly and effectively.
Shift Requirement: This role requires the successful candidate to work in one of the following shift patterns to support our global operations — US Shift: 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM IST or APAC Shift: 2:00 AM to 12:30 PM IST. This is a firm requirement for the role. We ask that candidates apply only if they are comfortable committing to these working hours on an ongoing basis.
