The Role
The Architectural Project Coordinator is an intermediate-level designer responsible for taking on more independent design tasks and contributing to the detailed design, documentation and overall project coordination of architectural projects. This role involves collaboration with project leaders and external consultants, as well as increasing involvement in technical and coordination aspects of project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop design solutions and architectural concepts for mid-to-large-sized projects, working closely with senior designers and architects to refine and implement design ideas.
- Prepare detailed construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and 3D models, ensuring adherence to project requirements and standards.
- Conduct research on materials, codes, and zoning regulations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Coordinate with engineering consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical) to integrate building systems into architectural designs.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams during the design development and construction document phases to ensure project alignment with client goals.
- Assist in managing project timelines, deliverables, and communication between internal and external project stakeholders.
- Participate in construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and addressing technical issues as they arise.
- Contribute to project quality control efforts by reviewing design deliverables and ensuring that documents meet internal and client standards.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural design for large-scale architectural projects
- Proficiency in design software (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp) for creating accurate models and drawings
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Progress toward architectural licensure
- Design experience in Federal or Commercial Markets
