Job Summary
The project is currently in Front End Loading (FEL) 2 phase, working through the external Milestone Reviews 3 and 4 over the next two years.Manage a safe, environmental, cost and schedule effective implementation of the project. The Project Manager is accountable for the planning and execution of engineering, procurement, construction, completion, commissioning, startup, and handover of the project to Operations, in alignment with approved project premises and governance. The project manager shall ensure that the project at any time is staffed and organized with competent resources to meet safety, schedule, quality and budget requirements and targets.
Applicant must have prior experience in the Pre FID phase of an offshore Upstream project in a Project Manager or a Senior Project Leadership position
Position Overview
Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the Project Management Team (PMT) in driving delivery readiness and planning, ensuring that key decisions are supported by appropriate technical maturity, value optimization, and risk understanding.
- Manage facilities and execution inputs to concept selection and value shaping (trade‑off studies, scope definition, phasing impacts, and design simplification), supporting the concept framing and selection process towards stage gate milestones.
- Responsible for integrated planning across engineering, subsurface, wells, commercial, HSSE, Supply Chain, and operations working with the Project Integration Manager to support overall business objectives.
- Manage PMT decision cadence and governance mechanics (decision log, action tracking, and deliverable readiness tracking) to support robust decision quality and compliance with corporate stage‑gate requirements.
- Manage execution interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the Project Integration Manager with alignment on project scope and approvals
- Drive the maturation and quality assurance of project cost, schedule, and risk deliverables (classed estimates, IMS/schedule scenarios, QRA/uncertainty ranges, and mitigations) to support investment decisions
- Lead contracting strategy development, in close collaboration with SCM Contracting and Procurement disciplines, including market engagement, contract packaging, execution and risk‑allocation strategies, and participation in bid evaluations and award recommendations for major offshore contracts.
- Act as contract management lead for KME project contracts, ensuring that contract terms are aligned with the selected development concept and long‑term execution objectives.
- Ensure compliance with corporate project management systems, HSSE requirements, applicable regulations, agreed technical standards, and local content obligations, while appropriately tailoring processes to project risk and complexity.
- Establish, resource, and adjust the PMT organization as required to meet project objectives, ensuring timely access to critical functional expertise and appropriate integration across Company and JV resources.
- Responsible for driving the identification and management of key project risks and mitigations, including technical, commercial, regulatory, organizational, and execution risks, and ensure that independent reviews, peer assists, and assurance activities are effectively planned and executed.
- Promote the application of best practices, lessons learned, and corporate knowledge from comparable offshore developments and ensure structured knowledge capture and documentation at the completion of the pre‑FID phase.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience leading large, complex offshore upstream developments, preferably through pre‑FID / FEL / AFS–AFF phases. Track record of leading concept selection, value improvement, and scope optimization activities.
- Deep appreciation of cost estimating, schedule development, and uncertainty management
- Experience shaping contracting and commercial strategies, including market engagement and risk allocation
- Experience with operational and maintenance requirements with regards to platform design and performance.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
- Skilled in aligning JV partners and internal stakeholders around development strategy and investment choices
- Experience navigating corporate stage‑gate systems, assurance reviews, and capital approvals
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate technical, commercial, regulatory, and execution risks
- Strong focus on HSSE leadership, environmental risk framing, and regulatory compliance in offshore environments
