Job Summary The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible to assist the Coordinator of Athletic Training Services with the organization, maintenance, supervision, and administration of the athletic training program for intercollegiate student athletes. Job Duties: General Duties and Responsibilities · Assists the Coordinator of Athletic Training with the coordination of health care services for all the intercollegiate student athletes · Assists the Coordinator of Athletic Training with administration of athletic training services to student athletes · Provides coverage for home varsity contests · Supervises the graduate assistant and the athletic training student Specific Responsibilities The Certified Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing and/or coordinating athletic training coverage to the (22) intercollegiate varsity sports team(s) as assigned. Coverage includes but it not limited to · Injury Prevention · Injury Protection · Injury Assessment · Injury Rehabilitation o Counsel and guidance to injured athletes o Use of therapeutic exercise and equipment o Use of therapeutic modalities · Coverage of ESU home contest and away football contests in accordance with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference policies · Coverage of ESU home or away championship events · Maintenance of accurate records of all injuries and treatments performed · Assist the athletic administration and the athletes with regard to the athletic and insurance program · Work cooperatively with the Team Physicians · Work cooperatively with the faculty of the Athletic Training Education Department to: 1. Managing and maintaining the athletic training/sports medicine facility and equipment 2. Planning for availability and use of the athletic training facility as needed for both academic and athletic needs Performing other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
