Job Description
Ecowaste Solutions is looking for an experienced Safety leader to manage, maintain, and continuously improve our established Health and Safety Program across your assigned region. This role owns compliance, risk reduction, and ongoing safety improvement across all sites, with heavy emphasis on DOT and FMCSA trucking safety regulations. You'll be on the road frequently, approximately 60% of the time, working directly with operations teams to reduce incidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and reinforce a strong safety culture at every location.
Region: Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Implements, manages and maintains all elements of a comprehensive Health and Safety Program. Continuously improve employee and facility safety and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and State regulations.
- Measures and drives continuous improvement of comprehensive Safety Programs through participation and review of information collected through Internal Audits and Accident/Injury/Incident investigations.
- Manages property damage for each location.
- Performs Safety audits on each site quarterly.
- Works closely with operations on events and accidents, particularly those involving fleet and trucking operations.
Qualifications
- Required: 4+ years of safety management experience, including direct experience leading safety programs within a trucking or motor carrier environment.
- Required: Deep expertise in DOT/FMCSA regulations and enforcement standards.
- Required: Highly knowledgeable in OSHA regulations, with proven experience applying them in a field or industrial setting.
- Extensive travel required, approximately 60% of the time, throughout your assigned region.
- Must be proficient with MS Office applications with expertise in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. SharePoint expertise is also preferred.
- Must have excellent organization and both verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage conflict as it relates to safety or environmental situations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and EPA standards and recommended practices.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHST preferred.
