
Print Security Engineer
Job Description
The Print Security Engineer is a pivotal role within Marco’s expanding print security practice. This position is responsible for designing and implementing device hardening standards grounded in industry best practices, leveraging strong security analytics capabilities to assess risk and drive measurable improvements in print environment security posture.
Approximately 50% of this role is customer-facing, partnering directly with clients to scope, design, and implement tailored print security controls that align with their business objectives and compliance requirements. The remaining time is dedicated to internal initiatives including the development of hardening frameworks, tooling enhancements, and thought leadership content.
The Print Security Engineer reports to the Manager of Print Security and executes day-to-day tasks as directed by department leadership. This position will keep up-to-date with the latest breach techniques, vulnerabilities, and changes in regulatory standards that impact print and information security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive print device hardening standard based on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational security policies.
- Conduct security analytics and risk assessments of print environments to identify vulnerabilities, quantify risk, and recommend prioritized remediation strategies.
- Engage directly with customers to scope print security engagements, design security architectures, and guide implementation of print security controls from initial assessment through deployment.
- Collaborate with the Sales Organization to identify customer business objectives, build proof of concepts, conduct solution demonstrations, and support ongoing technical discussions during the sales process.
- Author technical blog posts, white papers, and customer-facing advisories on print security topics, including emerging vulnerabilities, threat trends, and recommended remediation approaches.
- Assist in evaluating new security technologies relevant to the print ecosystem, articulating use cases, and justifying their value to the business and to customers.
- Work closely with sales management, professional services teams, and other internal partners to solve unique customer requirements and help achieve overall sales plan objectives.
- Maintain and contribute best practices within the organization, including technology practice groups, the internal knowledge base, and assigned committees.
- Manage competing priorities and set expectations with stakeholders through proactive communication, planning, and clear articulation of potential return on investment.
- Accurately maintain and comply with documentation, communication, time entry, and administrative procedures in a timely manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, information security, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a security analyst, security consulting, IT security operations, or comparable role.
- Demonstrated ability to apply security analytics methodologies to assess risk and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience producing professional documentation, blog content, or customer-facing security advisories.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of personal insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, CompTIA CASP+, CompTIA CySA+, or similar industry-recognized security certification preferred.
- Experience developing or maintaining Microsoft Excel macro-based automations and tooling.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate or similar workflow automation platforms.
- Previous experience with regulatory standards including one or more of the following: HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or COBIT.
- Experience in a sales-oriented or client-facing technical organization.

- Deep understanding of print security concepts, device hardening, and related technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce compelling technical content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Self-starter with the ability to perform with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to proactively research and stay current with evolving threat landscapes, breach techniques, and regulatory standards applicable to print security.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel is required via automobile and airplane, and may require overnight stays. Travel includes visits to Marco offices, client sites, vendor locations, and industry events. Flexibility to optimize travel is available based on individual preferences and organizational needs.
PAY RANGE: $86,007 - $137,611 annually
