POSITION:    2026-2027 Substitute Teacher
 
LOCATION:  Delmar Middle & Senior High School
                      200 N. Eighth Street
                      Delmar, DE 19940
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum GED/High School Diploma
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Satisfactory Child Protection Registry.
• Mantoux skin test/PPD documentation.
• Cooperative Attitude.
• Good oral and written communication and the ability to present information effectively
• The State of Delaware requires all public school employees to undergo a criminal background check (state and federal) to determine suitability for employment.
• Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory criminal background check, which is the responsibility of the employee.
• The State of Delaware requires new employees to be paid by direct deposit and to be part of a lag payroll system as conditions of employment. 

SALARY: As per State guidelines: Class A-Licensed/Certified Teacher $179 per day; Class B -Bachelor's/Associate's degree $143 per day; Class C-GED or High School Diploma $113 per day. Long Term Substitute additional pay of $25/day beginning on the 11th consecutive day. (After 3 consecutive days unassigned, long-term day count will start over)
 
ANTICIPATED DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:  As needed throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
