Job Summary
The Light Assembler I is an entry‑level production role responsible for performing basic, repetitive assembly tasks involving light components or sub‑assemblies. This position follows clearly defined work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures to support efficient manufacturing operations. Role Overview
The Light Assembler I supports manufacturing operations by assembling, inspecting, and packaging light parts or products using hand tools, fixtures, or simple equipment. Tasks are standardized and routine, requiring attention to detail and adherence to production schedules. The role may operate in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment and works as part of a team under direct supervision.
The position typically reports to a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, or Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Production Tasks
Perform simple, repetitive assembly of light components or products according to work instructions
Fit, fasten, or connect parts using hand tools, fixtures, or basic equipment
Follow standardized assembly sequences and production methods
Meet defined production quantity and quality expectations
Quality & Inspection Support
Perform basic visual inspections of assembled parts
Identify obvious defects, missing components, or assembly errors
Separate non‑conforming items and notify supervision
Follow quality standards and documentation requirements
Material Handling & Workstation Support
Retrieve, stage, and handle materials or components as needed
Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations
Support packaging, labeling, or sorting of finished goods
Dispose of waste and scrap according to procedures
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and work instructions
Use tools and equipment safely and as trained
Report safety concerns, hazards, or incidents promptly
Comply with environmental, quality, and operational policies
Teamwork & Learning
Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors
Follow direction and accept feedback to improve performance
Learn basic assembly techniques, quality expectations, and production flow
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
Scope & Impact
Impact is limited to assigned assembly tasks
Work is repetitive and highly structured
Errors are typically detectable through inspection and supervision
Contributes to production output, quality, and workflow efficiency
Qualifications
Education & Experience
No formal education required
Prior manufacturing, assembly, or production experience helpful but not required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently
Basic understanding of workplace safety practices
Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment
