Qualifications:
ISBE certified or ASEP certified
Previous coaching and playing experience
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Job Summary:
The Head Coach will be responsible for building and maintaining the girls softball program which will include, but is not limited to:
- Maintaining levels of competition
- Summer camps for current and prospective players
- Monitor all athletes academic progress
- Follow and enforce established eligibility requirements of District 12, KRC and the IHSA
- Assign duties to assistant coaches
- Evaluates assistant coaches
- Organize practice schedule for all levels
- Organize individual practices to provide individual and team development
- Work with the Athletic Director in formulating practice and game schedules
- Maintaining the softball activity fund
- Establishes team rules and goals that are share with players and parents
- Follows established procedures in the event of an injury to an athlete
- Ensures all athletes are supervised at all times when involved with team activities
- Is a positive role model and maintains proper sportsmanship on the team at all times
- Maintains an inventory of all equipment
- Submits a list of all award winners in a timely manner at the conclusion of each season
- Attends professional development clinics/conferences specific to softball
