Job Description

- Provides individualized nutrition services aligned with Health at Every Size.
- Provides individual medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient’s medical goals.
- Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of hospitalized patients and out-patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
- Identifies and provides age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the patients and their families.
- Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and for standards of palatability and appearance.
- Directs the calculation and documentation of calorie counts/enteral intake.
- Communicates nutrition needs and care issues to other health care providers via documentation in patient’s electronic medical record and via participation in interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
- Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals.
- Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
- Maintains registered dietitian (RD) status including continuing professional education.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food/Nutrition Services; this may include assistance in the kitchen as time and needs dictate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, or comparable major
- Licensed as a Registered Dietitian by the State of Ohio
- Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
- 2-3 years experience in a patient care environment preferred.

Experience in eating disorder treatment preferred.
- In depth knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition is required
- Ability to assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive care plans for all levels of nutritional risk patients is required
