Job Summary

North Florida Surgeons-Clay office is looking for a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and medical administrative support, with experience in a medical clinic setting a plus. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively assist healthcare providers while ensuring a positive experience for patients.

Duties
  • Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs and performing intake assessments such as verifying medical history, test results and medications, as well as an occasional minor office surgery.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and medical procedures.
  • Obtaining test results and other information pertinent to the patient’s care. 
  • Order tests, imaging and medications as prescribed and assist with procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems, ensuring HIPPA and OSHA compliance.
  • Coordinating daily administrative activities, including patient medical record maintenance, daily chart preparation and appointment scheduling.
  • Educate patients on medication administration, and follow-up care instructions.
 
Skills
  • Proficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
  • Familiarity with basic life support techniques.
  • Strong understanding of medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling and insurance verification.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and with patients and families with compassion.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments.
