The main purpose of the HSE Supervisor role is to identify & ensure there is no property loss or damage to the environment during project execution and review method statements for safety inputs, establish the site as per HSE program/plan, ensure hazard identification, risk assessment, mitigate hazards, develop safety awareness & conduct toolbox moments.
- Support the day-to-day HSE activities of the project in accordance with company policies, procedures, and approved budgets.
- Support the implementation and execution of all HSE activities within the project.
- Assist in ensuring that HSE deliverable schedules are updated based on identified project risks and mitigation plans.
- Support the maintenance of the company's HSE certifications and compliance requirements.
- Promote and foster a positive safety culture across all company divisions.
- Assist in implementing HSE policies and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and risks.
- Support compliance with applicable HSE legislation, regulations, standards, and client requirements.
- Assist in the investigation, reporting, and cost estimation of incidents, injuries, damages, and near misses.
- Provide support in monitoring and reporting the effectiveness of HSE programs and initiatives.
- Support major incident and accident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist in the planning, budgeting, coordination, and delivery of HSE training programs.
- Coordinate with project teams and departments to identify, address, and resolve HSE-related issues, including client concerns.
- Support the Personnel and Administration Department in reporting safety incidents and maintaining related records.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating internal and external HSE audits.
- Support the development and enhancement of the company's HSE expertise, systems, controls, and capabilities.
- Conduct HSE orientation programs for newly joined project employees.
- Conduct toolbox talks, HSE awareness sessions, and safety training programs.
- Organize and participate in site emergency response drills and exercises.
- Review and monitor Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure compliance and safe handling practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent professional HSE certification.
- Formal training in Accident and Incident Investigation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) within a comparable organization or operation.
- Experience working in the Middle East region is highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Advanced knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Waste Management and the Handling of Hazardous Materials.
- Advanced understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment and Control.
- Advanced competency in Risk Assessment and Mitigation Planning.
- Advanced competency in Non-Conformance Management, Incident Reporting, Accident Investigation, and Emergency Response.
- Advanced competency in Incident and Accident Investigation Techniques.
