Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking 2 (two) ESI Systems Engineering Manager 2 to work with our Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Business Unit and be a contributing member of the System Integration and Sustainment (SIS) Enterprise Systems Integration (ESI) team. This multi-tiered and multi-disciplined team assesses external interfaces and mission scenario operational threads across the Weapon System (WS). The ESI org serves as system integrators to facilitate systems of systems interoperability and joint systems integration in partnership with customer counterparts and other key stakeholders across the enterprise. This position may be located either in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.
What you will get to do:
In this position the ESI Manager serve both as a technical team lead and will provide personnel support to the ESI organization. This role will have responsibility for quality and technical execution of engineers and also interface with multiple stakeholders for external systems interfaces. Candidates for this position must be able to understand the intent of WS integration at the highest levels and drive engineering processes & analyses to prove successful systems level integration. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership and foundational systems engineering skills to drive process and technical gap resolution of interface and requirement design solutions to achieve program and contract objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Engineering teams. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead teams in a fluid environment that requires teamwork with our Customer, NGC teams and suppliers to meet program objectives.
Responsibilities include:
• Communicate effectively and report status and progress metrics to Program Managers, IPT Management, and customers.
• Lead Integration activities in support of systems-of-systems integration which may include integration test planning, problem identification and reporting, integration event execution, coordination with multiple stakeholders to facilitate effective and efficient communication
• Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met; support program status efforts including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking and Control Account Management (CAM) activities
• Demonstrate leadership principles – Integrity, respect, organizational, communication, etc.
• Be proficient in the development of key system engineering artifacts such as requirement specifications and interface definition documents
• Participate in technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations, and requirements analyses for integrated systems
• Provide guidance and mentoring to teams during project execution
• Ensure appropriate coordination between SEIT and other integration teams
• Identify risks and opportunities associated with integration
• Provide functional management for a team with grade levels ranging from T01 through T05
• Manage and forecast engineering resources in collaboration with engineering management and technical leaders.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Masters
• US Citizenship with Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance.
• 2+ years experience on large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) experience or CAM training
• Experience working with external customers to meet program expectations
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Customer-focused mindset with proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills
• 3+ years of experience with managing/scheduling complex technical efforts
• Experience with Systems Engineering program milestone events (e.g., PDR, CDR)
• 1+ year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against technical, cost, and schedule milestones
• Experience collaborating with multiple functional groups, subcontracts, and government customer representatives
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and to meet program commitments in a highly concurrent, dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment
• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior management, peers, and employees
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Experience with managing/scheduling complex technical efforts
• Prior experience leading 10+ person teams
• Formal management experience to include performance reviews for direct reports
• Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems-of-systems.
• Experience with Agile, Confluence, and Jira
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
• Experience executing and boarding Risks, Issues & Opportunities
• 4+ years experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems
• Active Top-Secret clearance
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and experiences presenting to both internal and customer audiences
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and to meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment
Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $230,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
