Role Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspection, testing, and documentation activities to ensure manufactured products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role supports the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards by conducting first-piece, in-process, and final inspections while maintaining accurate quality records. The Quality Technician works closely with production, engineering, and quality leadership to identify nonconforming material and support corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements to verify dimensional conformance
Perform first-piece inspections for departments
Conduct in-process and final inspections and accurately complete history cards and inspection documentation
Perform floor audits and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with control plans and work instructions
Set up and use special gaging and precision measurement equipment including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other inspection tools
Prepare samples using cut-off saws and other equipment for testing purposes
Perform hardness, tensile, and torque testing in accordance with applicable standards
Conduct grain flow testing and mix required chemicals as part of metallurgical evaluation
Perform raw material evaluations and verify compliance with specifications
Complete PPAP documentation when assigned
Perform gage R&R studies and capability studies under guidance
Administer disposition of nonconforming material and generate Repair Shop Orders as required
Evaluate incoming material certifications (raw material, heat treat, plating) for compliance and maintain certification records in the ERP system
Conduct routine calibration of gages and measuring instruments per calibration schedule
Maintain quality documentation and records in the company ERP/business system
Attend meetings as required to support quality initiatives
Work with customers and suppliers when needed under direction of quality leadership
Follow all Lean, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
2–4 years of manufacturing quality inspection experience preferred
Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
Experience using precision measuring instruments and special gaging
Basic knowledge of PPAP and statistical tools preferred
Basic computer proficiency and ERP experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and handle parts up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to perform repetitive hand movements when measuring and testing parts
Ability to work in manufacturing environments including heat treat and production areas
Ability to wear required PPE.
