Job Summary

Working under the guidance and direction of the Operations engineering staff, the Operations Engineering Intern will contribute to process improvement, operational efficiency gains, project delivery, and program deployment for ZOLL ACT production lines.

Essential Functions

  • Support continuous improvement projects aimed at analyzing and solving paper-based processes within ZOLL ACT.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of production tooling, line design, material, and process flows to comply with quality system requirements and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Engineers, Managers and Technicians to:
  • Review, understand and draft technical documentation (e.g. Engineering Change Orders, Engineering Drawings, Process SOPs, etc)
  • Identify, design and execute line layout and process improvements.
  • Perform various test functions on devices/equipment and provide meaningful analysis/interpretation of data.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Actively pursuing a BS or MS in Engineering, Technology, or related STEM field at an accredited University, graduating no sooner than May 2027.
  • Must be able to work onsite in San Jose, CA for 12 months duration at least 20 hrs/week. Remote work is not sustainable long term for this position. Hands-on work is required periodically throughout the 12-month term. Local candidates within commute of San Jose preferred. No relocation expenses provided.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic experience with data analysis, methods, and graphing required.
  • Creative problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and oral presentation skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams required.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Microscope and measurement equipment familiarity
  • Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts and software packages (MiniTab, Python, R. etc.) preferred.
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) software competence (SolidWorks preferred)
  • 3D printing experience preferred.

The hourly pay rate for this position is:

$24.00 to $24.00
