Position Summary
JRP is seeking a Field Safety Specialist to support the company’s safety compliance, risk management, and field safety initiatives across all operational markets. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in safety practices throughout the organization.
The Field Safety Specialist will conduct field safety audits, assist with incident investigations, support DOT compliance efforts, and help reinforce safety expectations across drivers and operational teams. This role will also collaborate with the Fleet Trainer to support onboarding safety alignment and ensure consistent safety messaging across the organization.
This position requires frequent travel to terminals and field locations, including occasional overnight stays.

Compensation Range
$70,000-$80,000 (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Support company-wide safety initiatives across driver and operational teams
- Conduct field safety audits, terminal inspections, and operational safety reviews
- Assist with DOT compliance programs including driver qualification files, hours of service, and regulatory documentation
- Participate in incident investigations including accidents, spills, near misses, and safety violations
- Prepare incident reports and support corrective action planning
- Travel to company locations to observe operations and reinforce safety standards
- Support onboarding safety alignment in coordination with the Fleet Trainer
- Assist in developing safety communications including safety meetings, bulletins, and toolbox talks
- Monitor safety trends and provide feedback to leadership on risk reduction opportunities
- Support EHS compliance efforts including OSHA standards and company safety policies
- Promote a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement
- Assist operations teams with safety-related questions, inspections, and compliance support
- Participate in emergency response support when required
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 2–5 years of experience supporting workplace safety, transportation safety, regulatory compliance, or a related field preferred.

Working knowledge of OSHA regulations required; OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred.

Working knowledge of DOT regulations and FMCSA compliance preferred.

Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, or corrective action planning preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%), including occasional overnight travel.

Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings and participate in random testing as required.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, including terminals and customer sites.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and conduct inspections in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles and navigate industrial work environments safely.
- Ability to travel frequently and occasionally overnight to support field operations.
