The Opportunity

QBE International are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Paralegal to join our growing Legal team in Leeds. This opportunity would suit someone who is keen to develop their legal career within the insurance industry and gain exposure to a wide range of legal areas.

You will provide additional in-house capability, comprising legal and administrative support to the QBE International Legal team. This vital role involves performing tasks that do not necessarily require the expertise of a qualified solicitor, helping to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the broader legal team.

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider supporting professional qualifications at its discretion.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers — and we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries, which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact — at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented, and kind.

Your new role

  • Reviewing a range of basic commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, supplier terms and conditions, engagement letters, and IT and supplier contracts

  • Supporting professional development by staying updated with changes in laws and regulations and participating in relevant activities

  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships

About you

  • Experience supporting legal, commercial, or operational activities within a legal or professional services environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively

  • A practical approach to work and problem-solving

  • Confidence to act independently and make decisions within your level of competence, with the ability to recognise when to seek guidance
