Position Summary
The Folder Gluer Operator is responsible for setting up and operating folder gluer machines to produce finished cartons that meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This role partners closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to drive efficiency, minimize downtime, and maintain accurate production records.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate folder gluer machines according to job specifications
- Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments for optimal output
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with minor equipment repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues during production
- Read and interpret job tickets, blueprints, and production schedules
- Accurately complete production records and documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Experience operating folder gluers or similar packaging/manufacturing equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical training in printing, packaging, or related field preferred
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Regular use of hands for handling, operating, and adjusting equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong visual acuity (including close vision and color differentiation)
- Ability to communicate effectively in a production environment
