Job Purpose
The role is responsible for strategic regional raw material management (50%) and process engineering excellence (50%), ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and robust manufacturing processes. The position acts as a key interface between suppliers and internal R&D/Formula teams to support innovation, alternate material development, and portfolio/range maintenance, while working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, and Regional Formula Managers.
Key Responsibilities
A. Regional Raw Material Management (50%)
- Lead regional raw material strategy, including New Suppliers/ New technology onboarding , sourcing alignment, material standardization, risk mitigation, and RM lifecycle management.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between suppliers and R&D / Formula teams, enabling:
- Evaluation and introduction of innovative raw materials and technologies
- Support for range maintenance, reformulations, and product lifecycle activities
- Early supplier involvement in innovation and renovation projects
- Partner with Procurement to support supplier selection, negotiations, alternate sourcing strategies, and raw‑material‑driven cost saving projects.
- Drive raw material harmonization and simplification in Collaboration with Regional Formula Managers across the region to reduce complexity and operational risk.
- Lead and contribute to cross‑functional cost optimization initiatives, ensuring no compromise on quality or performance.
- Manage raw material change control, including supplier changes, spec updates, and substitution initiatives.
- Proactively assess and mitigate raw material risks related to availability, quality, regulatory, and sustainability aspects.
- B. Process Engineering & Manufacturing Support (50%)
- Provide process engineering expertise to manufacturing sites for new technology and product launch.
- Support process optimization and troubleshooting
- Lead NPI, reformulation and Scale up from R&D in collaboration with Plant and Quality team
- Ensure strong alignment between raw material properties and process capability to minimize variability and production losses.
- Lead technology transfers, validation activities, and deployment of best practices across the region.
- Provide process input to quality investigations and preventive actions linked to raw materials or process conditions.
