The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and detail oriented professional to support global standardization activities within the transformer ecosystem. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with international experts and contribute to shaping industry standards across IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE.
How you'll make impact
- Maintain an up to date registry of Hitachi Energy experts participating in IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE committees, working groups, and task forces.
- Track and report on the lifecycle of standards activities, including invitations to ballot, voting windows, new work item proposals (NWIP), terms of reference (ToR), and publication of new standards and revisions.
- Ensure that meeting notes from all participating experts are uploaded and archived in the appropriate Teams channels following each session.
- Prepare clear, structured biannual summaries of ongoing and completed activities across IEC and IEEE committees.
- Propose improvements to coordination processes to increase transparency, efficiency, and global collaboration within the transformer standardization ecosystem.
- Support expert teams by facilitating timely communication on deadlines, deliverables, and standards updates.
- Closely collaborate with R&D engineers, quality teams, and regional experts to ensure alignment and readiness for ballot participation.
- Ensure internal processes adhere to company requirements and rules for participation in external technical bodies.
- Maintain dashboards and reports highlighting participation metrics, progress, critical deadlines, and strategic opportunities.
- Provide regular updates to the R&D leadership team to support strategic decision making regarding standards participation.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 0–3 years of experience in engineering, project coordination, or technical documentation (internships included).
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Curious mindset with interest in the power industry, high voltage technology, or grid standards.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate effectively with experts across different regions and time zones.
- Self driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a structured environment.
- Interest in global standardization processes (IEC/IEEE/CIGRE experience is a plus but not required).
