eBay’s Office of AI Transformation (OAIT) is driving eBay’s reinvention of how our internal work gets done, faster and better at enterprise scale. We partner across the company to turn AI into a practical advantage: introducing new AI capabilities, standing up agentic workflows, and discovering new ways to deliver value that weren’t feasible before. This is a team of builders and change leaders who want to define “how work gets done” for thousands of employees and see their work show up in everyday execution. If you want to shape how a global company evolves at the intersection of technology, people, and real execution, this is the team.
As Director, AI Transformation, you will help move eBay from AI experimentation to measurable enterprise impact. You will work across business functions to identify the highest-value workflow opportunities, redesign work across people, process, technology, and support the deployment of AI-enabled solutions that improve speed and most importantly, customer outcomes.
This is a senior, high-autonomy role that combines strategy with hands-on execution. You will help prioritize the right internal workflows, build repeatable playbooks, drive adoption across teams, and measure whether AI is actually changing outcomes. The role is about making sure eBay focuses on the highest return AI bets, scales what works, stops what does not, and makes the impact visible.
What You Will Do
Identify and prioritize high-impact workflows where AI can remove friction and drive better business or customer outcomes.
Partner with business functions to redesign workflows across roles, handoffs, and decisions.
Translate workflow needs into clear product requirements, including user needs, expected outcomes, and success measures.
Apply existing enterprise AI tools, automation, and agentic workflows to solve practical business problems.
Represent business team needs with IT, Product, and Engineering, ensuring AI solutions solve the right workflow problems and are practical to adopt.
Lead change enablement through clear communications, training, and manager support.
Build repeatable toolkits, playbooks, and templates that functions can use to scale adoption.
Measure and track overall adoption, productivity, and business impact for each workflow or solution.
Convert successful functional solutions into reusable enterprise patterns, and connect teams across the company to share AI learnings, examples, and best practices.
What You Bring
10+ years of experience leading AI, digital, or workflow transformation in a complex technology organization, with proven ability to redesign how teams work and deliver measurable adoption, productivity, or business impact.
Experience working in a technology-led corporate environment, with enough fluency to partner credibly with Product, Engineering, IT, Data, Security, and platform teams.
Strong working knowledge of AI and automation, including how GenAI,agents, workflow automation, and enterprise AI tools can be applied to real business workflows.
Understand concepts and ability to configure and use AI tools effectively, create practical examples for teams, and translate AI capabilities into simple, usable ways of working.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional work without direct authority and influence senior stakeholders through clarity, trust, and results.
Experience redesigning processes across people, technology, data, controls, and operating rhythms.
Strong program and prioritization discipline; able to separate high-value work from noise and keep teams moving.
Change leadership experience, including adoption strategy, training, communications, stakeholder engagement, and behavior change.
Builder mindset: comfortable operating in ambiguity, creating structure, testing quickly, learning fast, and improving as you go.
