What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney (P&W) is seeking a Safety Assurance Lead under the Enterprise SMS Program Office in East Hartford, CT. This position will be responsible for leading the enterprise-wide Product Safety Assurance program, and leading other initiatives aimed at advancing P&W's Safety Management System.
Candidate must be a strong communicator, work well in dynamic cross-functional teams, and have a strong passion for improving culture and product safety.
Lead and mature P&W's safety assurance strategy, including identifying robust and reliable data sources, enhancing KPIs for critical processes, and working the SMS Steering Group on best methods for reviewing data with SMS Leadership.
Engages Product Safety Ambassadors on best methods for tracking product safety metrics and KPIs at the domain level, including targeted strategies across different organization types.
Works with cross-functional leaders on developing, monitoring, and responding to proactive measures for identifying hazards within the system, and escalated to senior company leaders.
Responsible for leading efforts to integrating SMS into the CORE Operating System, aimed at consistent continuous improvement of P&W's SMS.
Works with SMS Program Manager and Product Safety Officer in developing annual objectives and supporting tasks, aimed at continuous improvement and maturation of the SMS
Create metrics and trend data to articulate overall assurance process health to SMS leadership.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Air Transportation Management, Aerospace Science, or related field
10+ years of experience in Aerospace or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree.
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Strong understanding of SMS principles and ability to communicate these principles to broad audiences.
Demonstrated skill in leading cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills and experience articulating vision and strategy at senior leadership level.
Familiarity with Engineering, Quality, and Operations organizations and/or processes with a background working with safety data, within a SMS framework
Skilled working with Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and information systems.
Experience in using CORE tools for continuous process improvement.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
