Job Description
Role Overview
The Global Medical Education Digital Learning & Platforms Solutions Administrator supports and maintains a customer‑facing digital ecosystem that enables Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to access high‑quality medical education and resources, reinforcing the safe and effective use of S+N technologies and solutions across all Business Units (Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics, Wound Management).
This position is responsible for the administration and interface localization of platform-related features and informational content, as well as coordination of operations and support for localized educational content (with subject matter experts retaining primary ownership and qualifications), content governance and operational support for S+N Academy Online (Japanese version), a Totara-powered LMS serving external global healthcare professionals, along with its broader ecosystem. This encompasses:
- The LMS-based S+N Academy Online website
- Mobile and digital learning applications
- Virtual and blended learning initiatives
- CMS medical education pages, when applicable
- Digital Asset Management via the Content Hub
- Customer support in Japanese for both internal and external users
This role delivers Customer Support and operational support to Medical Education teams, ensuring high standards of content quality, governance, and platform reliability. The role supports blended learning journeys, including the operational and technical enablement of online learning, events and webinars, and collaborates closely with global and regional Med Ed, Digital Marketing, Corporate Website team, IT, and third‑party partners.
This position is part of a broader Global Medical Education Digital Learning & Platforms team, dedicated to delivering technology‑enabled, data‑driven medical education experiences across digital and blended learning modalities. The team currently includes S+N Academy Online Global Solutions Administrators, collectively supporting global business units, with this role strengthening regional and localization capabilities for Japan specifically.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Content Administration
- Integrate and publish digital learning modules, educational pathways and assets within S+N Academy Online (Totara LMS) and associated platforms upon approved content requests
- Support Global Content Development and local teams with educational content testing, uploading, versioning, localization when subtitled (video-based content) and lifecycle management
- Manage learner audiences and assign learning content according to both global and regional strategies: Assign blended learning programs, online learning programs, and related in-person online activities to HCP audiences.
- Conduct regular quality checks on platform content, including spelling, formatting, images, and assets.
- Maintain (update, retire, refresh, etc…) educational content based on input from SMEs and Content Leads, following Global Med Ed digital learning protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Manage Digital Asset Management (Content Hub) assets for local content and assets like imagery and icons and update CMS medical education pages as needed.
Content Governance & Maintenance
- Support content leads and subject matter experts with governance processes, including content structure, naming conventions, metadata, version control, and archival
- Ensure content is maintained in line with global Medical Education standards, compliance requirements, and platform governance guidelines
- Monitor content accuracy and consistency across platforms and propose corrective actions or improvements
- Maintain and update content documentation, job aids, and operational guidance
Localization & Japan Market Enablement
- Support the localization of the LMS and ecosystem interfaces into Japanese, including navigation labels, tags, system messages, learner‑facing text, and configuration elements and info / landing pages
- Validate localized user experience for Japanese learners, including usability and cultural appropriateness
- Collaborate with regional teams to verify interface localization, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
- Support video-educational content subtitle translation operations with approved AI approved solutions and coordinate with SMEs from local and global teams to ensure localization accuracy and consistency
Blended Learning & Event Operations
- Support Med Ed event related operations when in-person, digital or virtual events are part of blended learning journeys
- Configure and manage LMS components related to live or virtual learning activities (sessions, enrollments, attendance tracking, completion rules)
- Provide technical facilitation and live support for integration webinars, including platform setup, testing, access troubleshooting, and learner support
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and third party‑ providers to ensure smooth execution of virtual and hybrid learning events
- Level 1 ad-hoc support for local requirements in simulation technology is provided remotely occasionally, without on-site assistance.
Digital Customer Support & Medical Education Teams Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for digital customer support for HCP learners and operational support for Medical Education teams
- Triage incoming platform related requests, resolve issues directly or coordinate resolution with ‑appropriate partners
- Provide Tier 1 & Tier 2 application support external facing, including:
- Access issues (T1) prior to escalating to OKTA or CMS teams
- Course availability / browser and device compatibility
- Learner progress, scores, and completion tracking
- Certificate validation and learning record support
- Enrollment management and updates
- Partner with 3rd‑party vendors and internal IT teams for Tier 3 & Tier 4 issue resolution
- Monitor platform performance and support adherence to agreed SLAs
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate and share standard and ad‑hoc reports, including:
- Learner registration and activity reports
- Course completion and engagement metrics
- Feedback and evaluation analysis
- Support data extraction and insights for Medical Education stakeholders
- Collaborate with the GME DLP data analytics specialist to address dashboard requirements unique to your location.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Provide short trainings and ad‑hoc platform support to Medical Education team members
- Collaborate closely with global colleagues, IT functions, and external partners to enhance platform performance and learner experience for Japan and within the global ecosystem
- Contribute to the evolution of Global Medical Education Digital Learning strategy, including blended learning models, virtual training approaches, and platform innovation
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Learning, Web Administration, Digital Marketing, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years’ experience in website or digital learning platform administration.
- Hands‑on experience with LMS administration; Totara experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting virtual events, webinars, or blended learning programs is a strong advantage.
- Strong business acumen with a diplomatic, service oriented‑ mindset.
- Proven organizational, administrative, and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including handling datasets
- Interest in Learning Technologies and AI
- Having prior experience in Healthcare or Medtech is advantageous.
Language Requirements
- Professional fluency in English (written and verbal)
- Fluent or native Japanese (mandatory)
Technical Competencies
- Digital learning platform or website administration (essential)
- LMS administration experience (Totara highly preferred)
- Digital customer support or application support experience
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Understanding of adult learning principles and digital instructional design (preferred)
- Advanced comfort with MS Office, including data analysis and reporting
