Job Description
Title: Preschool Summer School Attendant
Date: 4 hours per day, 8 meeting dates
Time: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Job Summary:
The Summer School Attendant provides direct, individualized support to students with special needs during the school day. This includes assistance with academic activities, personal care, behavior support, and transitions throughout the school environment.
Description:
- Must hold a Paraprofessionals License as approved by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
- Experience working with children with special needs as an attendant.
- Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, or other physical care as needed.
- Background check and clearance per The Logan Hocking School District policies.
Terms of Employment:
- Preschool Summer School, 8 day contract.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support students in classroom participation and engagement under the direction of the teacher.
- Assist with implementing early childhood school skills.
- Monitor and ensure student safety during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and transportation as needed.
- Provide support with mobility, toileting, feeding, and hygiene as needed.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers, intervention specialists, and the administrator.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Collect data and document daily progress or incidents as directed.
