Job Summary The People & Culture Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of effective people strategies, programs, and operational HR services across the organisation.Reporting to the Head of Industrial Relations & Human Resources, the role provides leadership, guidance and support across Talent Acquisition, Workplace Relations, and broader Human Resources activities

The position works closely with operational leaders, managers, and the broader People & Culture team to ensure workforce requirements are effectively supported and people practices are consistent, practical, compliant, and aligned with organisational objectives

The People & Culture Manager will lead and support team members across Talent Acquisition and Workplace Relations while maintaining responsibility for broader HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, organisational change, employee engagement, policy development, and the continuous improvement of people practices

Operating within a fast-paced, complex, and operationally driven environment, the role requires a commercially minded and pragmatic people leader who can balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational delivery

Key Responsibilities People & Culture Leadership Lead, coach and support Talent Acquisition and Workplace Relations team members

Establish clear priorities, expectations, and accountabilities across the team

Support the professional development and capability of team members

Partner with senior leaders and managers to understand and address workforce and people priorities

Support the Head of Industrial Relations & Human Resources in delivering broader people strategies and initiatives

Talent Acquisition Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Talent Acquisition function

Partner with operational leaders to understand current and future workforce requirements

Support recruitment strategies across high-volume, specialist and leadership roles

Monitor recruitment activity, workforce demand, and key recruitment metrics

Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes

Support effective workforce planning and the development of sustainable talent pipelines

Workplace Relations Provide guidance and support across employee and workplace relations matters

Coach managers in managing performance, misconduct, grievances, complaints and workplace conflict

Support workplace investigations and formal employment processes as required

Work collaboratively with Workplace Relations Specialists and the Head of Industrial Relations & Human Resources on complex or sensitive matters

Ensure workplace matters are managed fairly, consistently and in accordance with relevant legislation, industrial instruments, and organisational policies

Human Resources Provide practical and commercially focused HR advice to leaders and managers

Support the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, performance, development, retention, and separation

Partner with leaders to address workforce, capability, and organisational challenges

Support organisational change and workforce transitions

Contribute to employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and workplace culture initiatives

Support the development and continuous improvement of People & Culture policies, procedures, and practices

Workforce Planning and Reporting Partner with operational leaders to identify current and future workforce requirements

Analyse recruitment, turnover, retention, and other workforce trends

Prepare meaningful people insights and reports to support informed decision-making

Identify workforce risks and opportunities and recommend practical solutions

Stakeholder Management and Continuous Improvement Build strong relationships with senior leaders, operational managers, and employees

Provide credible, practical, and timely People & Culture advice

Lead and contribute to People & Culture projects and organisational initiatives

Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery

Promote collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement across the People & Culture function

About You You are an experienced and credible People & Culture professional with broad capability across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and Workplace Relations

You are a confident people leader who enjoys coaching and developing others while remaining comfortable managing hands-on HR responsibilities

You have strong stakeholder management skills and can provide practical advice, constructively challenge decisions, and navigate complex people matters

You are commercially aware, solutions focused and capable of balancing employee experience, operational requirements, organisational risk, and business priorities

Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

Demonstrated experience in a People & Culture, Human Resources or similar leadership role

Broad experience across HR, Talent Acquisition and Workplace Relations

Experience leading, coaching, and developing HR or People & Culture professionals

Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices

Experience managing complex employee and workplace relations matters

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced and complex environment

Experience within aviation, transport, logistics or another operational environment will be highly regarded
