About the Role BCA's Afterschool Program provides Preschool and Pre-K students with a safe, engaging, and nurturing extended day experience. This is a part-time position running 3:00-6:00 PM, with multiple openings for Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage Preschool and Pre-K students (ages 3-5) during afterschool hours
  • Lead and facilitate afternoon activities including arts and crafts, storytime, games, and outdoor play
  • Provide a calm, consistent, and caring environment that helps children transition from the school day
  • Support children's social-emotional development and peer interactions
  • Communicate with families at pick-up and maintain daily awareness of each child's needs
  • Follow BCA routines, safety protocols, and staff expectations

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children (ages 3-5) in a school, childcare, or camp setting
  • Warm, patient, and reliable - comfortable managing a group of young learners independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Early Childhood Education coursework or background preferred; not required
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
