The Automotive Division within GEL comprises several entities. These companies serve as authorized dealerships for Nissan, GAC and Hyundai brands in Barbados, and exclusively for Nissan and GAC in Jamaica, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent. Additionally, the division boasts a diverse portfolio that also includes a Rental Brand, operating exclusively in Barbados.
Within this division, the respective companies offer a range of services, including authentic parts, mechanical and electrical workshops, body shops, tire services, and the manufacturing and retailing of vehicle batteries.
We are looking for a dynamic, solutions oriented, highly collaborative and results-driven Regional Commercial & Business Systems Manager is responsible for leading the optimization of automotive operations and driving commercial growth across the division. This role ensures that all systems are optimized to support the operations. These systems include but are not limited to; Dealer Management Systems (DMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Voice of the Customer (VOC), Reporting Dashboards, service scheduling platforms, parts inventory systems, and warranty processing tools.
The Regional Commercial & Business Systems Manager will also be required to collaborate with GEL Head office with reference to group related IT support which includes cyber security, software licenses, network and hardware management.
The position drives business development by identifying new revenue opportunities, identifying waste and Improving efficiency of business processes, improving and ensuring consistency in the customer experience across the customer lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Development (Automotive Focus)
- Drive and deliver revenue growth across new vehicles, used vehicles, aftersales, fleet, and parts by identifying, prioritizing, and executing high-impact commercial initiatives aligned to market opportunities and OEM objectives.
- Shape and execute commercial strategies that improve customer retention, increase service absorption, and maximize lifetime value, ensuring alignment with OEM targets and regional business priorities.
- Expand and strengthen strategic partnerships with corporate clients, insurance providers, fleet operators, and government agencies to unlock new revenue channels and scale business opportunities across the division.
- Own cross-functional performance optimization across all business units, ensuring each function contributes to revenue growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiency through disciplined execution, process enhancement, and cross-functional alignment.
2. Automotive Business Systems Management
- Own and optimize the end-to-end automotive systems ecosystem, including DMS, OEM platforms, CRM, customer experience tools, inventory and procurement systems, and warranty platforms, ensuring alignment to commercial and operational objectives.
- Ensure system reliability, integration, and performance across all business functions, enabling seamless support for vehicle sales, aftersales, parts, and service operations.
- Design and standardize core business workflows across sales, service, and parts, leveraging systems to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance customer experience.
- Lead systems integration and digital enablement initiatives, connecting DMS, OEM platforms, financial systems, and customer-facing tools to create a unified and scalable operating environment.
- Drive adoption and capability building across teams, ensuring effective system usage, improved productivity, and consistent execution across all markets.
- Train team members on dealership systems usage to increase productivity and reduce operational errors.
3. Change Management & Adoption
- Lead complex, cross-functional change initiatives across the division, ensuring successful adoption of new systems, processes, and operating models with minimal disruption to business performance.
- Embed structured change management practices, aligning stakeholders, building capability, and driving accountability to sustain transformation outcomes and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency and commercial performance.
4. Business Process Management
- Design and implement structured frameworks for continuous process review and optimization across sales, aftersales, and operational workflows, ensuring alignment to commercial objectives and operational efficiency.
- Own and enhance core commercial processes, including lead management, sales funnel performance, CRM optimization, and customer follow-up systems, to improve conversion rates, retention, and revenue generation.
- Drive digital enablement of the customer journey by strengthening key touchpoints such as online service booking, digital retailing, and vehicle tracking, improving customer experience and engagement across the lifecycle.
- Standardize and optimize service and aftersales processes, improving throughput, service quality, and service absorption through consistent and scalable operating models.
5. Data, Reporting, Analytics & Compliance Management
- Own the end-to-end data strategy, governance, and quality, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance across all systems.
- Design and implement a KPI and performance management framework aligned to commercial, operational, and customer objectives, driving accountability and informed decision-making.
- Lead performance analytics and data-driven insights, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve revenue, margins, customer retention, and operational efficiency.
- Deliver executive-level reporting and dashboards, providing real-time visibility of performance and enabling proactive business management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Automotive Management would be an asset, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in automotive operations, dealership systems management, or automotive business development.
- Strong knowledge of dealership processes: sales, service, parts, warranty, and fleet management.
- Hands-on experience with Dealer Management Systems or OEM systems.
- Proven ability to drive commercial growth and improve operational processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills.
