Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise operations at the campus level. Provide instructional leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Direct the implementation of district policies and instructional programs and manage the operation of all campus activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master's degree
Mid-Management Certificate or Principal Standard Certificate
Certified Appraiser in Texas Teacher Evaluation & Support System (T-TESS)
Certified in Instructional Leadership Development (ILD) or Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL)
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
Ability to manage budget and personnel and coordinate campus functions
Ability to explain policy, procedures, and data
Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Other qualifications deemed necessary by the Board
Experience:
Three years experience as a classroom teacher
At least two years experience in instructional leadership role
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate campus functions; maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
