Position Summary: The Field Planning Technician role is responsible for supporting pre-construction planning activities, including site surveys, data collection, and preparation of project designs for telecommunications and utility infrastructure. Responsibilities Conduct field surveys to gather site-specific data and measurements Document field conditions through notes, photos, and sketches Prepare and update project layouts and design packages Interpret construction drawings and utility plans Identify permitting, right-of-way, and environmental constraints Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure accurate planning Develop material lists and bill of materials Assist in route planning for underground and aerial installations Ensure compliance with company and client standards Support cost estimating and budgeting Maintain organized project documentation Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required & Preferred Qualifications: Basic knowledge of electrical or utility construction Ability to read and interpret maps and technical drawings Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and in teams Ability to travel to field sites Valid driver's license Preferred: GIS or AutoCAD experience Preferred: Telecommunications or utility planning experience Preferred: Knowledge of permitting and right-of-way Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred 1–3 years of related experience preferred Hourly Range: $24.00 to $36.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Plan Employee Stock Purchase Plan Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance Voluntary Life Insurance Voluntary Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Paid Time Off Henkels & McCoy West is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities.
