This Senior Specialist, Occupational Health will provide medical expertise in case management of medical claims, health screening programs, work restrictions, and OSHA compliance.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Provide clinical healthcare guidance and services to employees (e.g., First Aid Care for injuries and illnesses, responding to onsite medical emergencies, case management for work related injuries, and general health education)
  • Evaluate and identify indicators (e.g., injury rate, lost workdays, accommodations, referral to ergonomics) to drive health initiatives including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and wellbeing.
  • Recommend and lead the implementation of continuous process improvements
  • Develop and interpret compliance associated to Global EHS Standards and regulatory requirements related to occupational health. Maintain relationship and evaluate service of external occupational health clinic and service providers.
  • Manage onsite work-related health screenings and medical surveillance programs. (e.g., respiratory protection, hearing conservation, chemical surveillances, etc.) based on Global EHS Standards and site-specific criteria.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, utilizing approved medical and nursing formats, including use of an Electronic Medical Record.
  • Provide guidance to and partner with stakeholders ([e.g., EH&S teams, Human Resources, Legal and Risk Management) to encourage an integrated team approach on case management while utilizing expertise to meet the business needs and applying best practices
  • Responsible for occupational health center management consisting of ordering treatment supplies, updating standing orders and superuser of electronic medical record system including monitoring and calibrating of treatment devices
  • Other incidental duties: Oversee tracking and training of employee responder (first aid/CPR/AED certifications) roster. Develop on-line training programs as necessary.


What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing field with 5 years of previous related experience
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to occupational health
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding procedures in relation to occupational health
  • Substantial knowledge of case management processes
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and key contact representing the organization on contracts or projects
  • Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
