Job Description
Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer responsible for mechanical system work on construction projects, including commercial heating and cooling systems with a focus on chilled water HVAC systems. You will ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, standards, and safety rules; support design review, installation oversight, testing, and system verification; and coordinate with the project team, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure proper mechanical system performance and successful project completion.
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract and the location of assignment is in Cyprus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Mechanical Engineering support for project design and construction activities.
- Review mechanical system designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for performance and compliance.
- Conduct inspections and technical assessments of mechanical installations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support system testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Certified and authorized tradesperson in government regulated trades for commercial heating and cooling systems, including chilled water HVAC systems.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction projects of similar scope, scale, and quality.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or valid mechanical design license or equivalent professional certification.
- Ability to work on site as project needs require.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC systems, codes, standards, and safety practice.
- For Project Engineer, completed Part 1 of Standard Form 330 (SF 330) and detailed resume with general and project related qualifications and experience.
- Proficient in written and verbal English.
