
Corazon - Senior Vice President, Consulting
Job Description
SUMMARY
Provides management oversight for the Consulting business unit at Corazon, including, but not limited to, people management and mentoring, process management, and client management. Imparts insight to team to drive overall client success and satisfaction. Works to procure additional new business opportunities for Corazon. Bears a fiduciary responsibility to the firm in the professional conduct, execution of the position duties, knowledge of confidential information and discretion in all communications to staff and peers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs the activities of the Consulting business unit on a weekly and monthly basis with emphasis on team capacity, process standardization, performance, and ultimately client success;
- Responsible for participation in leadership meetings, the development and implementation of the strategic plan initiatives related to the Consulting division, and special assignments as directed by management.
- Works to meet and exceed the Consulting business unit’s performance goals for the month, quarter, and year;
- Ensures that the consulting subspecialty (service line) divisions maintain a standardized approach related to client delivery.
- Assigns consulting team members to client engagements with input from the sales lead; Ensures the right team member is assigned given the project specifics.
- Assists the Vice Presidents in each division with completion any work plans related to specific service line growth initiatives.
- Participates in Corazon’s promotional activities, speaking engagements, professional societies, and meetings with the business/health care community. Provides articles for publication in journals and news articles.
- Maintains current knowledge and skills in the areas of consulting for any clinical service or other opportunities that Corazon currently offers.
- Works with contacts in the healthcare industry to identify new business opportunities and technology advances in the field. Collaborates with the President/Executive Vice President to identify and approach sales prospects and other new business development opportunities. Upon request, will work with sales team to review proposals and deliver sales presentations.
- Works with HR and the leadership team to determine the hiring and selecting of candidates for open positions. Conducts performance appraisals for direct reports and contributes to the evaluations of all team members.
- Provides oversight and mentorship for orientation of new hires to the consulting team. Acts as mentor and resource to other Corazon staff and provides feedback to promote their continued development.
- Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up to date consulting delivery model.
- Acts as an Account Manager on many engagements to ensure client needs are met, the terms of the engagement are fulfilled, and invoicing (especially consulting team expenses) and payments are processed according to the contract terms; facilitates problem solving that may arise with a client.
- Works to assure team has exposure to a variety of project types. Supports employee professional development plans that allow for new learning and professional growth.
- Assures that the team is working to achieve on time completion, works within the project scope, and achieves high client satisfaction rates. Reinforces identification of up-sell opportunities to be passed to the Sales team.
- Works with IT staff to develop CUBE as a project management support tool that allows for real time reporting on delivery outcomes.
- Responsible for evaluating the need for sub-contractors to deliver consulting services.
- Identifies and procures new business opportunities (e.g., upsell, cross-sell, lead generation) for Corazon and its Ingenovis ‘sister’ companies;
- Ensures administrative tasks required of management (i.e., monthly reports) are completed in a timely fashion thereby meeting company deadlines;
- Develops and maintains operational policies and procedures for the Consulting business unit; and,
- In conjunction with the CLT and VPs, annually reviews Advisor contributions and recommends slate of Advisors for annual contract renewal. Provides over site for ongoing relationship with Corazon Medical Advisors. Works with Account Managers to develop scope of work for medical advisors from contract through project delivery.
- Performs additional duties as requested by management
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred. Healthcare management experience preferred.
- Progressive management experience with demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team to their most effective level.
- Work experience in healthcare management.
- Demonstrated credibility in the management of service lines with a keen understanding of the business implications.
- Three years of successful consulting experience in a project leadership role with the ability to facilitate change, influence people, and effectively listen and communicate, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
- Must live in the Pittsburgh area and have a regular presence at the Corazon office site.

- Ability to use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through use of the telephone, email, video conference and face to face contact
- Ability to use manual dexterity, visual acuity and hearing acuity to effectively use and operate office related equipment such as but not limited to a computer, copier, scanner, camera, phone, headset, keyboard and mouse
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a keyboard and workstation with low periods of reaching and standing
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
