The day to day
ALS Assay & Inspection is seeking to employ 2 hardworking and reliable Casual Samplers to assist in taking spear/scoop samples from bulker bags. Recording and reporting daily weight figures to the Assy & Inspection Supervisor, the role will primarily be responsible for sampling copper concentrate from bulker bags, recording and reporting daily weights as well as monitoring and maintaining Quality and Safety compliance when on our client's site.

Primary tasks will include:

  • Supervision of trucks weighing in and out on a weigh bridge
  • Manual sampling bulker bags containing copper concentrate
  • Recording and reporting daily weight figures to the Assy & Inspection Supervisor
  • Strong health and safety focus
  • Ensure all task are completed in accordance with QWI, NATA and ISO requirements
  • Report safety incidents per company procedures

The Essentials

  • Availability and flexibility to work shift work which will most likely be 12pm to 6pm Monday to Friday, some weekend hours may be required
  • Reliable and an exceptional work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A ‘can do’ attitude

The successful applicant will be provided extensive training and orientation.
