About TSSP Phase 3
The PNG–Australia Transport Sector Support Program Phase 3 (TSSP3) is a critical, high-priority Australian investment that stands to make a major contribution to PNG development outcomes.
Working closely with the Government of PNG (GoPNG), TSSP3 will build on the significant body of achievements, lessons, and relationships from the past 17 years of operation and will continue to contribute to the achievement of the overarching goal of:
‘A more effective, efficient, and inclusive transport system, enabling the economic and social development of PNG.’
Gender Equity, Disability Equity, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and Social and Environmental Safeguards, Locally Led Development (LLD), Climate Change and Disaster Resilience (CCDR) and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning and Adapting (MERLA) are a key focus for the program and are integrated into all of TSSP3’s activities and operations.
This phase of TSSP3 will run from November 2023 to November 2028.

The Role
The Bougainville Safeguards Coordinator (BSC) works under the direction of and together with the Bougainville Safeguards Manager (BSM) to ensure that environmental and social safeguards, including child protection and sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH), are effectively integrated into all transport sector activities in Bougainville supported by TSSP3. The role will support the implementation of the Bougainville Safeguard Plan and all associated activities, working in close coordination with the BSM.
TSSP3 will support the effective and efficient planning and delivery of road maintenance and rehabilitation contracts in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB) through the Bougainville Project Management Office (BPMO). The BPMO assists and supports the Division of Technical Services (DTS) of the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) to maintain and upgrade transport infrastructure.

About You
· A minimum of 5 years professional experience in a similar role
· Prior experience in working with safeguards policies and a knowledge of impact assessment and ability to formulate safeguards management plans
· Experience in community projects and/or road maintenance activities
· Experience in social management issues relevant to the road transport sector highly desirable
· Fluent in Tok Pisin
