Job Description
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel property
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
- Operate, inspect, and repair building systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment and related systems
- Perform general repairs, construction, and maintenance projects as needed
- Understand and efficiently maintain advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems
- Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns
- Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement
- Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and emergencies
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, repairs completed, and preventive maintenance activities
- Follow all Marriott brand standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with projects and other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous hotel engineering or commercial maintenance experience required
- Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building construction required
- Vocational training, associate degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more technical areas preferred
- State certification or licensing where required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- High work ethic, self-initiative, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various areas of the hotel
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed
- Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment
