Job Description
Hardware Engineer (RF & LMR Systems)
Key Responsibilities
- RF Hardware Development: Extensive experience in Electrical Engineering (EE) hardware development for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) based modems. This includes hands-on design and development of Transmitters, Frequency Generation Units (FGU) and Receiver circuits.
- Compliance & Certification: Experienced in troubleshooting RF performance issues arising from regulatory certification and conformance testing (e.g., ETSI, FCC, or P25 standards).
- Design Tools: Proficient in electronic design automation (EDA) software for schematic capture and PCB layout, with a strong preference for Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
- ·Systems Integration: Manage the hardware-to-software integration lifecycle. Develop custom test scripts to automate and enhance device testing using RF and digital diagnostic equipment.
- Validation & Documentation: Execute comprehensive electrical testing and validation plans. Responsible for generating detailed technical documentation, including test reports, failure analysis (root cause), and design change resolutions.
- Operational Support: Provide functional verification and manufacturing support to ensure design-to-production transitions are seamless and uninterrupted.
Basic Requirements
Professional Requirements & Education & Experience:
Academic: Bachelor o rMaster’s in Electrical (RF), Electronics, Telecommunications, Communication Engineering or any relevant field
Professional: 3–7 years of direct experience in RF and communication hardware design.
Design Tools: Proficiency in Cadence for schematic capture and PCB layout. Experience with simulation tools such as ADS or CST is highly preferred.
Technical Competencies
RF Expertise: Strong R&D background in RF passive designs and components (Tx, Rx, FGU, VCO) complying with stringent industry specifications.
Verification: Advanced debugging skills using simulation test-benches, hardware emulation, and lab diagnostic equipment.
Methodologies: Familiarity with Scrum, Agile, or SAFe development frameworks. Knowledge of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) and 6-sigma methodologies is a significant advantage.
