Job Title: Shipper/Receiver Salary Range: CAD$43,228:00 – CAD$54:000:00 Working Type: On-Site Responsible for the safe and accurate receipt, inspection, and dispatch of goods, ensuring efficient warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Regulatory, Safety Quality Compliance Ensure all products meet safety, legal, and quality standards. Ensure all products meet safety, legal, and food quality standards Perform inspections and address issues related to damage, hazards, allergens, or temperature deviations Enforce safety procedures and ensure driver compliance with site policies and inductions Maintain awareness of food safety requirements and support audit readiness Proactively identify risks and escalate concerns to prevent non-compliance Ensure compliance with food safety standards requirements, allergen control, and temperature management to maintain product integrity throughout receiving and dispatch processes Outbound Planning Shipment Execution Ensure efficient planning, release and sequencing of outbound shipments to support on-time picking, staging, and dispatch operations. Execute shipment releases within the system (e.g., via Outbound shipment monitor), ensuring orders are made available for picking in alignment with operational timelines Support wave planning and allocation activities by organizing and releasing orders based on volume, priority, and outbound schedules Coordinate shipment release timing with picking progress, dock capacity, and trailer availability to maintain smooth outbound flow Monitor system status of shipments and ensure accurate progression from planned to released and dispatched states within WCS/ERP Adjust release sequencing within defined guidelines to respond to operational changes such as urgent orders or delays Communicate wave and shipment release priorities with warehouse teams to ensure alignment across picking, staging, and dispatch activities Yard, Dock Operational Coordination Maintain efficient and controlled flow of trailers and goods. Control driver access and coordinate trailer movements with the yard operator Monitor and manage smooth dock flow by prioritizing shipments and yard activity to maintain balanced workflow, preventing congestion and ensuring efficient allocation of trailers and dock positions Process inbound and outbound loads efficiently, including handling rejected shipments Monitor yard activity to ensure safe and efficient trailer placement and movement Respond quickly to operational disruptions to maintain throughput Shipping, Receiving Inventory Management Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient handling and tracking of goods. Verify incoming shipments against documentation and ensure accuracy Support wave planning and allocation activities by organizing and releasing orders in alignment with operational priorities, ensuring efficient picking, staging, and dispatch flow Process goods receipt and dispatch while maintaining inventory accuracy in WMS Generate shipping documents and maintain control of inventory movements using scanners and systems Ensure inventory transactions are recorded in real time to maintain accurate system visibility and support operational decision-making Support inventory control processes by identifying and correcting discrepancies Report and document safety, quality, or compliance incidents in line with established procedures to support traceability and corrective actions Communication, Problem-Solving Administration Support smooth operations through effective communication, decision-making, and documentation. Communicate effectively with internal teams Ensure professional and consistent interaction with drivers, including clear communication of site procedures, expectations, and safety requirements Resolve or escalate discrepancies and prioritize tasks and adapt to changing operational demands Maintain accurate documentation and ensure audit readiness Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor/manager Apply sound judgment to resolve routine operational issues independently, escalating only complex or non-compliant situations in line with defined procedures KEY EXPERIENCE, K NOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Essential Experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or distribution environments Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP, including inventory transactions, scanning processes, and discrepancy handling Strong understanding of: Shipping and receiving procedures and documentation (BOL, packing slips) Food safety standards (HACCP, allergen control, temperature compliance) Workplace safety practices and hazard awareness High attention to detail with strong accuracy in handling inventory and documentation Works in fast-paced varying environmental conditions, including cold storage and high-traffic dock areas, requiring adaptability and adherence to safety protocols Demonstrates attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory, documentation, and compliance, minimizing operational errors and delays Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Manager Desirable Experience in cold storage or food distribution environment Forklift or Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification Hilton Foods Canada is committed to building a culture of diversity and inclusion and are committed to providing equal opportunities to all employees.
