SUMMARY OF POSITION
Provide supervision and direction to employees to ensure successful completion of assigned duties and tasks while adhering to department safety protocol. Responsible for implementing a driven, team-oriented culture, which embraces continuous improvements and ensures operational and process excellence across the board in all areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise and manage activities directly related to daily business and department needs
Develop, analyze, and deliver simple to complex information to direct reports
Effectively communicate daily schedules, goals, quality issues and concerns between shifts to ensure customer expectations are met
Provide mentoring, leadership, and direction to employees
Ensure individuals receive job-specific training and make sure personnel are compliant with all applicable training requirements
Assign work assignments based on daily department needs, ensure quality products are produced and successfully achieve department metrics
Assisting management in establishing and achieving program goals and objectives for the department including Continuous Improvement projects
Identify and elevate issues to management
Facilitate assessment of team’s knowledge, skill, and ability for accomplishing projects and tasks
Repair broken or damaged parts
Fabricate and revise fixtures, jigs, gauges, hand applies and special tooling and components
Keep work area clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
High school diploma or GED
Completion of a one-year certificate program in Welding from a college or technical school
5+ years related experience
3+ years leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment
Experience with steel, aluminum, and Invar 36
Experience with MIG, TIG, and Flux welding processes
This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required
Must obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment

Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment
Able to work varied shifts, overtime and weekends when necessary
Has confidence in leading processes, projects and looks for opportunities
Ability to work with management team to help drive performance of location

2nd Shift Fab and Form Department
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Most travel is primarily local during the business day. Some projects may require travel out of the area and overnight stays.

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles
The employee may be exposed to vibration
The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
May be required to travel to other site locations during the work day
May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands
Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
