Job Description
This is an entry level technical and paraprofessional work in different divisions of the Planning Department.
This position involves the application of basic research, statistical, administrative, and organizational skills and the preparation of reports, maps, legislation, and other graphics. An employee in this position is responsible for preparing various planning studies and supporting statistical summaries, drafts of recommendations, completing legislation, finalizing documents, and reports to assist Planners, administrative staff, or designee. This position will work with all of the divisions within the Department. Work is subject to careful technical review both while in progress and upon completion by Planners, and/or administrative staff, City officials, or designee. Performs duties of limited complexity independently.

Tracks amendments, legislation, covenants, permits, and conditions of approval to ensure compliance with such approvals.
Assists in the processing of permits and applications, including receipt of fee payments, tracking, and routing of plans and other materials.
Provides technical assistance and information to staff and the public in the administration of specific planning programs, areas, or ordinances.
Processes address change requests.
May be assigned to any division within the Planning Department and participates in a variety of projects as needed.
Performs related work as required.

A minimum of 60 college credits and one (1) year private or public sector planning experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Valid Driver's License from any state (Equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized upon application, however prior to appointment a State of Florida Driver's License (Class E or higher) must be presented to the Department of Human Resources and must be maintained valid throughout employment.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Employees in this classification may be required to work various shifts, to include nights, holidays, and weekends.

Audit/Academic reports are not accepted as substitutions for college transcripts. To qualify under the equivalency clause, applicant must provide proof of education in one or more of the following applicable forms: High school diploma or its equivalent, or transcript showing at least 60 college credits, or Associate's degree or higher. Completion of a Professional Certificate Program, including those issued upon finishing training programs or coursework, are not accepted as standalone documentation for meeting the minimum educational requirement mentioned above. Applicants must submit proof of qualifying education, such as an accredited high school diploma or its equivalent, degree seeking credits, or college/university degree or transcripts explicitly outlined in this job announcement.
2. Copy of valid Driver's License from any state (Equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized upon application, however, a State of Florida Driver's License (Class E or higher) is required at time of appointment and must be maintained valid throughout employment.
*Approved Credential Evaluation Agencies: Credential evaluation reports showing the United States equivalency for academic credentials earned in other countries may be provided by:
- An accredited four-year college or university in the United States, OR
- A current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), OR
- A current member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), OR
- A recognized Professional Organization
