Job Description
1st shift Shipper (Monday - Friday 9:30am-6pm) needed in our environmentally controlled, extremely clean, state-of-the-art facility in South Bend, Indiana. The Shipper is responsible for the boxing and processing of Pick Suggestions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and quality. Basic understanding of boxing and processing orders.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Process Pick Suggestions utilizing UPS and Fed Ex shipping software.
- Box parts according to shipping instructions and/or special instructions.
- Ensure that Work Instructions are being followed and all processes are being met
- Read, understand, and complete all Shipping Department documentation and work instructions to the PEI-Genesis, ISO9001, and AS9100 standard.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area using 5S principles.
Education/Experience:
- Prior boxing and processing experience in a faced-paced environment
- Basic math and counting skills
- Receptive to cross-training in other areas of Shipping
- Self-motivated
- Detail-oriented/Quality focused with a high emphasis on accuracy
- Strive to achieve established boxing metric
- Must be a team player
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Preferred or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
TECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES – (Specific Job Proficiencies and Skills)
- Basic ability to read and interpret Pick Suggestions and Work Orders.
- Basic understanding of PEI Quality Policy, FOD, and AS9100 Overview.
- Basic understanding of FIFO (First In – First Out) practices
- Knowledge of Product Identification and lot traceability as it pertains to boxing and processing orders.
- Basic computer skills dealing with UPS World Ship and Fed Ex
- Achieve effective level in primary position as defined in Shipping Skills Matrix
- Assists in training new employees in core skills of primary position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
- Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8+ hours of the day.
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8+ hours.
- Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
- Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
