Where You’ll Make a Difference

  • Characterize a focused library of alpha-amylase enzymes under various experimental conditions.
  • Evaluate enzyme performance across different pH and temperature ranges.
  • Investigate the impact of individual and combined mutations on enzyme functionality and stability.
  • Perform substrate specificity studies using starch and related polysaccharides.
  • Analyze reaction products to determine enzyme product profiles and hydrolysis patterns.
  • Design, execute, and document laboratory experiments following established protocols and safety standards.
  • Process, interpret, and present experimental data to support scientific decision-making.
  • Collaborate with scientists and researchers to discuss findings and propose next steps for enzyme development.
  • Contribute to technical reports and project presentations summarizing results and insights.

What Makes You the Right Fit

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Strong interest in enzyme technology, protein engineering, or industrial biotechnology.
  • Basic understanding of enzymology and biochemical characterization techniques.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment through coursework, projects, or previous internships.
  • Ability to accurately record, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
